There are four committees under umbrella of the Jamaica Association of Montreal. Each committee has their unique mission and mandate but they all share a common mission of benefitting the Jamaican, Black and wider Montreal communities.

B. Share your ideas for programs or events

The Jamaica Association hosts a number of programs and events; however, we are always open to new ideas in order to improve on them.

We welcome your constructive insights and thoughts. Here are four ways to share your ideas:

  1. Speak with a member of the board;
  2. Leave your ideas in the blue suggestion box at the bar;

C. Volunteer for an event / program

There is always a need for help given the many events, activities and projects at the Jamaica Association. You can apply for volunteer positions in the various area listed below:

  1. Greeter: Greeting participants and/or collecting tickets at events
  2. Booth or Bar Attendant: Working at booths and/or the bar at an event (ie. Jamaica Day)
  3. Backstage Assistant: Completing small tasks and providing help at events like Jamaica Day
  4. Set Up & Clean Up Crew: Helping to organize and to prepare an area before and after an event.
  5. Food Bank Assistant: Organizing, labeling and distributing food received from Moisson Montréal

Participation of volunteers is also encouraged for these events:

  1. Food Bank (help needed on an ongoing and weekly basis)
  2. Independance Day Banquet 2018
  3. Heroes Banquet 2018
  4. Mother’s Day Celebration 2019
  5. Father’s Day Celebration 2019
  6. Jamaica Day 2019
