On February 24th, 2017,  Kaisha Lee and Howard Johnson, aka King Shadrock,  organized the first annual Appreciation Soiree. This evening,  they recognized the efforts of Noel Alexander, Immediate Past President of the Jamaica Association and the newly formed board consisting of eight members. Some of Montreal’s top performers were on hand in addition to Mr. George Grant,  Honourary Consul  for Jamaica at Montreal, for this Black History Month event.  Honorees were presented commemorative pens and thanked for their service.

In February 2018, volunteers and community supporters were recognized. These individuals included those supporting the Association in the food bank, in the Footsteps program, members on JAM committees, community supporters as well as tutors in the various after-school and Adult Basic Education programs. Honorees were presented commemorative Jamaica Association mugs and thanked for their service.
