Option A: Mathematics Essential Course

Course description:

The Mathematic Essentials course provides students with essential knowledge for Secondary I, II and III math courses, workplace training and some vocational training program placement exams. This course is given in small group and problem solving is practiced in all the topics.

Focus of the course:

1. four operations of natural numbers 2. integers
3. fractions and decimals 4. percentages
5. ratios and proportions 6. introduction to algebra 
7. solving of simple equations  


Option B: Mathematic Lab Course

Course description:

The Mathematics Labs course is intended to help students who are in high school and adult learning centers to improve their math skills.  During the lab sessions, the instructor meets with students either individually or or in small groups to assist with assignments, review concepts and methods, provide review exercises, pretests as well as to help students develop learning strategies.

Cost: A per term fee of $30 for registration in the ABE Program
