The Au Futur Program is a confidential service is offered to young Black single mothers between the ages of 15 and 35 years. It is Federally funded and held in partnership with Maison D'Haiti since 1993.
The main goal of this 3-year program is to empower young women to set and achieve goals that will help them in developing themselves and their life skills. Further to this, the program is poised to maximize the optimal development of their child(ren), 0 to 5 years.
To achieve this goal, the following objectives are an integral part of the program:
1 - Support a young mother’s re-integration to school, a training program and /or the workforce;
2 - Provide information and workshops relevant to young mothers;
3 - Empower young women to have control over their quality of life;
4 - Encourage young women to attend support groups and / or workshops;
5 - Inform young women about the resources available to them in their neighbourhoods.
If you or someone you know is:
1 - A single mother with a child or children between the ages of 0 to 5 years old;
2 - A young woman between the ages of 15 and 35 years old;
3 - A newly arrived immigrant with or without status or who is refugee claimant;
4 - A single mother who has no extended family, is isolated and / or is marginalized;
5 - A young woman who has limited or no income;
6 - A young woman in need of information about available resources such as our food bank.
There will be a review every quarter of each woman's path to achieving their initial goals and perhaps new goals along their way. Engagement in the process is an important part of this growth process.
