Everyone is welcome to this community food bank which is here to provide relief for those in need ! Providing food security is our vision.
HOURS: THURSDAYS (10 am to 5 pm) & FRIDAYS (2 pm to 5 pm)
We operate on a first-come first serve basis. We continue to update our operating procedures to fit the mandated measures for social distancing and hygiene.
This is how we operate:
LOGISTICS:
1 - Disinfection of the handrails and handles;
2 - Sweeping and moping of stairs on each day;
3 - Clients wait at least two meters apart behind the locked glass entrance door and on the stairs where there is ventilation and proper air circulation;
4 - Food bank staff use personal protective gear, and gloves;
5 - all clients are mandated to wear a mask
SELECTING FOOD & PAYING FOR ITEMS:
6- Clients must be registered to use our service (registration can be done on the same day. Identification documents are requested. A food bank card will be given to you once the registration is complete.
7 - clients select their food choices from the provided list (available on our Facebook pages);
8 - Food items are collected by staff;
9- Items are placed on a disinfected cart and wheeled out to the entrance;
10 - The glass door is unlocked;
11 - clients place their food items in their own reusable bags on the landing (clients are asked to being thermal bags to place frozen meat items);
12 - the donation of $5 is placed in one clear plastic bag;
13 - the cart is disinfected and the next client is served.;
14 - The delivery service is reserved for Senior members of the Association only, as outlined by the Board in March 2020.
Note: The donation allows us to purchase other items for our food bank clients and to help in the repair of our van, as needed.

OUR FOOD BANK REMAINS OPEN USING THESE PROCESSES
The Public Health and regional alert systems is now GREEN, but the Omicron variant is in full force as such the following mandates apply to our food bank:
1 - If you are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, or have been in contact with someone who has the virus or is exhibiting symptoms, do not come to the food bank.
Ask someone who is not exposed to COVID to come to gather food items for you. Take good care of yourself and follow Public Health guidelines;
2 - All clients and staff are encouraged to wear a mask;
3 - That there will be continued strict health measures in place;
4 – All clients and staff must observe social distancing
5 - Staff must use gloves when distributing food and preparing orders;
